Aili Vint participates at the 36th Ljubljana Bienniale of Graphic Arts, titled “The Oracle”, opening on 6 June. The bienniale is curated by Chus Martínez. Vint will be presenting gouache pieces and installations created during the 1970s and 1990s. Her participation is facilitated by the Estonian Centre for Contemporary Arts.
The bienniale’s theme, “The Oracle” names and honours the symbolic place where all beings wonder about the course of life. It is in art that we find a meaningful possibility to be free, to forget, and to demand freedom and peace. Peace becomes possible only when we love the world we live in, even if it is difficult in the present times.
Founded in 1955, the Ljubljana Bienniale of Graphic Arts is one of the oldest art biennials in the world and celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
