
Estonian Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) is working with artist Edith Karlson for the next Estonian Pavilion at the Venice biennial and is seeking a graphic designer (or a collective) to collaborate on the design and visual communication aspects of the Pavilion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create the visual identity of the exhibition
- Design the exhibition catalogue
- Design the exhibition materials, such as press release, exhibition text, wall text etc
- Design materials for social media and press
- Create design for the banners in Venice city
- Manage the production and printing of all graphic materials
- Collaborate with artist Edith Karlson and the team of CCA to understand the artistic vision and translate it into visual designs
Interested candidates are invited to submit a portfolio showcasing your graphic design work together with a cover letter detailing your interest in the position and your vision for the Estonian Pavilion’s graphic design. Please also submit 1-3 drafts of either the banner, poster or catalogue cover to see the style and direction of the work which can be based on the previous works by Edith Karlson. This does not have to be the basis of the final design.
The keywords Edith Karlson will be working with are holiness, melancholy, joke, sadness, lust, brutality, cruelty, animality, confusion, loneliness, horror, matter, physicality, good and bad, death, transience/decay, emptiness, rawness/unfinishness, (over)abundance/orgy, joy, ambivalence.
